Spectrum Dewatering Equipment

FMW Distributors is an authorized distributor for Spectrum Equipment, which provides unique and innovative equipment for dewatering, solid-liquid separation and water purification.  Spectrum's dewatering devices are simple, effective, inexpensive and safe.

FMW Distributors only sells to other businesses, government agencies and general contractors.  Unfortunately, we do not sell to the general public and cannot drop ship orders to residential addresses, except for orders placed by general contractors.  If shipment is made to a general contractor's residential address, a resale certificate must be faxed prior to placing an order.

Phase Separators, Divided Phase Separators, Fixed Filter Phase Separators, Solids Removal and Concentrating Units, Polymer Injection, Filtration Units and Sludge Conditioners

Phase Separator

Dewatering Phase Separator

The self-dumping phase separator is a Hopper with a stainless steel screen covering the entire inside of the container. The screen is supported by steel grating, so that there is a space between the wall of the container and the screen. The same is true for the bottom. There are two 2-inch drains at floor level. A polypropylene felt or other type of filter cloth is installed in the container, covering the entire surface of the screen.

This filter cloth is inexpensive, disposable, incinerable, nontoxic and nonhazardous.

Outstanding Advantages...

  1. Use of disposable filter versus fixed filter eliminates plugging problem and container dumps out clean.
  2. Largest filtration surface area in the industry that speeds dewatering.
  3. Unitized to facilitate handling of quantities from a few cubic feet to thousands of cubic yards.
  4. Unit design facilitates dewatering materials that cannot be pumped due to lumps, chunks or extraneous material inclusions. Works well on materials that might be dug and loaded for dewatering and drying.
  5. Units are available in many sizes and may be custom designed or modified to be compatible with customers’ needs. Standard units are 1 to 5 cu. yd. self-dumping Hoppers, 10 to 30 cu. yd. roll-off containers and 25 cu. yd. vacuum containers.
  6. Unit minimizes treatment and handling of materials before and after dewatering or drying. Solids are retained in unit and are ready to be transported.
  7. Unit may be used to recover product or process solids for reclaim, direct shipping, dewatering, drying, etc. ... This eliminates some additional handling, intermediate packaging and contamination.

Divided Phase Separator

Divided Dewatering Phase Separator

The Divided Phase Separator is a roll-off container with a stainless steel screen covering the entire inside of the container. There is a drain space between the wall and screen. A disposable cloth or screen is installed as a liner and the slurries or sludges are deposited inside the filter. The liquid drains through the filter, goes to the bottom and runs to the drains at the back door. When the solids are dewatered, the container is picked up with a roll-off truck and hauled to the desired location to be dumped and returned for reuse. The filter cloth is inexpensive, disposable, nontoxic and nonhazardous.

Fixed Filter Phase Separator

Fixed Filter Dewatering Container

The Phase Separator with fixed filter panels is a dewatering unit used for polymer treated and certain types of coarse or non-sticking materials. The material is put into the container, the filter retains the solids, and the liquid drains through the filter and out the drains at the back door. When the solids are dewatered, the container is picked up by a roll-off truck and hauled to the desired location to be dumped and returned for reuse.

Outstanding Advantages…

  1. Phase Separators with fixed filters may be used with polymer treated and other selected materials that are coarse or non-sticking. They work well with grit chamber and storm drain materials.
Standard units are 1 to 5 cu. yd. self-dumping Hoppers and 10 to 30 cu. yd. open top, and 20 to 30 cu. yd. vacuum roll-off containers.

Solids Removal and Concentrating Unit

The Solids Removal and Concentrating Unit (SRCU) is a linear solids removal unit that acts as a thickener and in the process of removing solids, also acts as a clarifier of liquid steams. The intent, design, and function of the SRCU is focused on the solids handling problems encountered in flowing liquids containing various quantities of these solids. It is designed to remove and concentrate the solids on an automatic and continuous basis with minimal operator oversight. The SRCU can remove and process from one pound to hundred of tons per day with very minor control changes and is not sensitive to flow or liquid/solid ratio variations. Floating materials may also be removed with the skimmer.

Solids Removal Dewatering Unit

The Solids Removal and Concentrating Unit (SRCU) is designed to remove and concentrate solids and floating materials on a continuous basis from a flowing stream. The slurry stream flows into the SRCU on one end, the solids are removed out the bottom, the floating materials are skimmed from the top and the clean water comes out the other end. In processing very fine or low density solids it is usually necessary to pretreat with polymers or other methods to facilitate the removal and subsequent dewatering of these solids.

  • Three phase separations

  • Dredging projects

  • Sludge pumping for dewatering

  • Clarification of discharge streams

  • Process solids recovery and transfer
